Although most parents are the ones who provide their children with the arts and crafts for kids, there are other places where these useful tools can also be found. For example, children may get some valuable time with these tools at the babysitter’s house or in kindergarten. If you are running any type of facility for children whether you’re watching them for parents or educating them or both, you should definitely consider adding more arts and crafts for kids. Below are several great reasons to make this change.
Boredom Free
One thing you never want when you’re working with children is for them to become bored. That’s when the trouble starts. Of course, you also don’t want them to be running around a playground or sitting in front of a television all day either. By giving them arts and crafts for kids you can provide both mental and physical stimulation in one package. You can have complete control of the arts and crafts for kids they receive so you can take precautions to keep your home or facility from being destroyed by paint or markers (colored pencils are a good alternative).
At the end of the day, the children can return to their parents with some nice artwork or finished craft projects which makes everyone happy.
Learning Potential
While most people think arts and crafts for kids are all about fun, they can also be very useful for real learning. For example, if you give each child a handy sketchbook and some colored pencils you could end up with the tools for learning. Here’s an example. If you want to work on the alphabet, draw a letter on a whiteboard where all of the kids can see it. Don’t say the letter but ask all of the kids to draw a picture of a thing that starts with that letter. If you had an S on the board, for instance, the kids might draw a snake or a stereo.
Another idea for a learning activity using arts and crafts for kids is to ask the children to create a visual interpretation of a math problem. For example, if you want the kids to find the answer to “2 + 2″ then have them draw a picture to help them. The child might draw two ice cream cones and two dogs then can count the pictures and know the answer is four.
Alternative Activities
Having arts and crafts for kids is also a good idea if you want to make alternative activities for some kids. Not all children will want to do the same things at the same time. For example, some kids may want to watch a DVD before nap time, other children may want to play games, but some prefer quiet time alone. Having arts and crafts for kids is a good way to meet the needs of multiple kids at the same time.
Meeting the Needs of Children
Having arts and crafts for kids at home, at care facilities, and at schools is an important way to encourage creativity in children and to inspire good behavior.

You want to encourage your child’s creativity and provide a wholesome form of entertainment – a nice alternative to television shows and video games – so you’ve deciding to purchase arts and crafts for kids. The next question is where are you going to shop to find the products you want. One answer is to buy your arts and crafts for kids on the Internet. Here are a few reasons why.
Selection
As a parent, you know your child better than anyone but you also know that there are plenty of arts and crafts for kids he or she simply won’t want anything to do with. If you go to an ordinary toy store or even a craft store, you’re going to be facing a limited selection of items that may not meet any of your needs. These stores can only hold a certain number of items because of their storage capacity and limited demand for arts and crafts for kids.
On the other hand, online stores do not have that problem. They can usually provide a better selection of items or can specialize in a certain type of items. For example, Smalltime Child offers some arts and crafts for kids that aren’t readily available in most stores, such as oil pastels (an easier to use alternative to crayons) and sketchbooks designed for children.
Convenience
If you’re a parent, you also know that your time is very precious. You don’t want to be running from store to store looking for the arts and crafts for kids you want. Plus, all that driving around is going to drain your gas tank pretty quickly. Then there’s also the crowds and the unruly kids of other parents to deal with.
Wouldn’t you be happier if you could shop from the relative peace and quiet of your home? Shopping online for arts and crafts for kids allows you to do just that. Plus, today’s online transactions are just as safe – if not safer – then in-store transactions. Online shopping is also a great idea for Christmas gifts when you want to keep those arts and crafts for kids gifts a surprise.
Price
One of the biggest surprises for most people is the price difference you often find between online and offline stores selling arts and crafts for kids. Because brick and mortar stores have so much overhead cost to deal with, they usually have to pass on those costs to consumers. Online stores don’t have that problem so they can pass on the savings to consumers instead.
Even if you’ve never thought about purchasing arts and crafts for kids online, you should take the time to do some comparison shopping before you make any purchases.
Shipping Savings
In the past, the biggest detractor to online shopping was the shipping cost. That’s also becoming less of a problem. Many stores selling arts and crafts for kids, including Smalltime Child, offer free shipping to customers who spend a certain amount at the site.

As a parent I know that I am always on the lookout for new toys that I think my children may enjoy. One such toy that I think is worth a good look at is a product called Aqua Sand. This is really a unique arts and crafts toys, and it is better seen in action that describing. Basically it is a specially formulated sand that is dry when out of the water and it looks and feels like real sand. But when this material is poured in water it clumps together so it can be shaped for formed with only your imagination as the limit. Once you scoop it up out of the water it is dry again and can be used over and over. How kids play with it is that they are basically making an arts and crafts project under the water. All they do is pour the dry Aqua Sand in to the water and then it will clump together so you can form it make shapes out of it. There are kits and accessories you can buy like special scoops and underwater applicator bottles that make it very easy to form and shape the sand. Once you are done you can purchase a special scoop that makes it easy to remove whatever sand you need. The sand comes in different colors, with primary colors offered as yellow, purple, blue, pink, and orange. There are sand refill kits available so if you run out of the material, or want to increase what you already have, then these refill kits make this easy to do. You can buy Aqua Sand in colored bottles and take it home to play with it. All you really need is a tupper ware bowl that is large enough so that creations can be formed under the water. Remember, the sand will only form if it is submerged in water, so make sure the bowl you use is large enough to do this. If you want to be more fancy there are special kits you can buy for making specialty projects. The company offers two such kits in the Creation Kit Ocean Adventure, and the Mermaid Kit. These kits come with a special clear bowl where you mix the sand, and it also comes with other objects to match the particular theme. One item that is necessary is the special scoop and rake, so make sure whatever kit or bottles you purchase come with these utilities. Most parents and kids really love this arts and crafts toy. The theme kits are really not that necessary as you can provide your own bowl to play with the Aqua Sand. One thing to think of is that this can be a messy toy, so whatever you use for bowl make sure you lay a towel down so the cleanup is easy and effortless. One tip is to use a coffee filter when you pour the water out of the bowl, this makes sure you capture all the sand when you are done so you can use it over and over. If the sand drops on the floor is dries very quickly and can be swept up and used again. One thing to think about with this toy is that the company does not recommend it for children three and younger as the sand may present a choking hazard. Overall this toy is something that children can do to develop their creativity and imagination and have hours of endless fun. If you are looking for a new and creative toy for your children you will want to consider giving them Aqua Sand.
